At P and R Steel Pressing UK Ltd we design and manufacture a wide range of pressings including cycle accessories, bed linking bars, divan clips, printed nameplates, spanners, brackets, washers and all types of presswork for the motor trade.

We have a capacity up to 100 tonnes and can handle materials as thin as 0.02mm (0.001in) in both steel and non-ferrous metals as needed. We accommodate typical runs of 2,000 to 50,000 units and have handled jobs of over 5 million units.

We handle components made from a wide range of raw material including: Stainless, mild and coated steel, aluminium, phosphor bronze, copper and brass.

We continuously monitor the condition of tools during presswork, and our regular maintenance inspections ensure continuous component production to the high standards that you require.

In the 1880s it was the steel pen-nib industry that brought about an increase in the use of unskilled labour for presswork. At this time there were just 20 small firms producing pen-nibs, by 1914 there were only 11 but they were employing an average of 450 people, the largest employed 1000.
